Jennie Stuart Express Lab Setting Up Temporary Screening & Testing Site

Jennie Stuart Health Screening and Testing Site

As a result of the recent COVID-19 outbreak and community need, our team has opened an easily accessible screening and testing site for patients with signs and symptoms that could represent a COVID-19 infection. Beginning Friday, March 20, 2020 Jennie Stuart Health will host this site at the Express Lab location off the Eagle Way Bypass.

Patients will be assessed by our healthcare team from their car unless clinical need dictates otherwise, with patients exhibiting any influenza-like symptoms tested with a rapid flu, rapid strep, and a sample obtain for COVID-19 testing if those initial tests fail to reveal a cause.

Anyone who is sick enough to be tested will need to self-quarantine, as will any other persons in the vehicle at the time of testing along with any household contacts, until the results of the tests are determined. Rapid flu and rapid strep tests are resulted within an hour, whereas COVID-19 results may take several days.

For the safety of our patients and staff we ask patients to use the following guidelines:

• Hours of operation are 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, and open to the public
• Only people exhibiting symptoms should come. People not meeting criteria will not be tested at this time
• Please remain in your car and follow instructions as directed by staff
• Have patience as we serve others in line, and be prepared to wait
• Once samples are obtained, patients will be directed home and will be notified by phone of results as they are received.

Regular Express Lab services will be closed. Patients are asked to go to the main hospital campus and enter through the main entrance near the Emergency Department for lab testing.
