Hopkinsville, KY – On Thursday, August 24th, the Jennie Stuart Health Foundation hosted a public event
sponsored by Planters Bank to announce the launch of a capital campaign supporting the E.C. Green Cancer
Center that is undergoing a comprehensive transformation. Jennie Stuart Health is investing in cutting-edge
renovations that will bring together technology, expertise and superior care in a welcoming patient-centered
environment.
This comprehensive center has been designed with the needs of every patient in mind, including semi-private
and private infusion spaces, integrated lab and pharmacy services, and the most precise, efficient equipment
available today. Dr. Ratilal Gajera, Campaign Co-Chair and Foundation Board Representative, stated “This
campaign takes care of each and every need of cancer patients. It’s my dream come true.”
Tracey Clark, Executive Director, shares “The purpose of the Foundation’s capital campaign for the Cancer
Center is to provide the ‘extras’ that will greatly enhance patient comfort, such as a water feature in the
waiting space, heated and massaging infusion recliners, a hospitality station and valet service.”
Eric Lee, CEO of Jennie Stuart Health, shared that a bequest from the estate of Bert and Nell Dorris Lilly could
not have been timelier. Because the gift was designated for cancer care, a portion served as the lead gift for
this campaign. “Legacy gifts, like the Lilly Trust, are very important to our community hospital’s growth and
sustainability”, Lee says. There will soon be another exciting announcement regarding the Lilly Gift and the
E.C. Green Cancer Center.
Kelley Workman and Dr. Ratilal Gajera, Campaign Co-Chairs closed the evening by announcing the
Foundation’s campaign goal of $1.5 million and that $1,064,043 has been raised thus far. Workman shared
her thanks to the early contributors and stated, “the gifts received to support this campaign will make the
Center a place of hope, healing and innovation for years to come.”
Gifts of any size are appreciated and can be a great way to honor or remember a loved one who has
experienced cancer. In addition, naming and sponsorship opportunities are available. If you are interested in
