Hopkinsville, KY – On Wednesday, May 29, several representatives from the hospital’s administration, staff and board gathered to witness a check presentation in the amount of $13,500 to the Jennie Stuart Health Foundation from 100 Women Who Care Hopkinsville. This organization is a local chapter of an international initiative that invites women to engage in their communities to benefit local nonprofits. The group meets quarterly to select a local charity to support, with members each contributing to the chosen cause. Marla White, co-founder of 100 Women Who Care Hopkinsville along with Beth Frerichs, shared “With the Foundation’s donation included, the Hopkinsville chapter has now contributed over $100,000 since 2022.”
At their May 6th meeting, Foundation Executive Director, Tracey Clark and Dr. Ratilal Gajera, campaign co-chair, shared with the organization how their contributions would impact patient care for the new E.C. Green Cancer Center. “All contributions received from 100 Women Who Care Hopkinsville will help provide one of the semi-private infusion/treatment bays in the new center”, said Clark. “Not only will each patient greatly benefit, but these enhanced spaces will also provide comfort for the patient’s accompanying caregiver through the long hours of chemotherapy. We are so appreciative of your support of our efforts.”
The comprehensive new cancer center has been designed with the needs of every patient in mind, including semi-private and private infusion spaces, integrated lab and pharmacy services, and the most precise, efficient equipment available today. The amenities provided by the Foundation will focus on the patient’s experience, privacy and comfort while receiving cancer treatment. These amenities include luxurious heated/massaging treatment recliners, faux skylights to provide a sense of natural light, calming water features, a hospitality station, valet service, and an entertainment system allowing patients to mirror their devices during treatment.
At the conclusion of the presentation, Clark shared there will be a plaque displayed outside of one of the semi-private infusion/treatment bays in honor of 100 Women Who Care Hopkinsville.
