Due to a number of industry-related and economic factors, significantly including a nationwide nursing shortage and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jennie Stuart Health’s Home Health service line operations are being suspended, effective Aug. 31, 2022.
Our Home Health Agency (HHA) has a long and important history at JSH. The hospital secured Certificate of Need approval from the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1987 to serve the Western Kentucky counties of Christian, Trigg and Todd. In the summer of 1989, our HHA officially opened for service to our patients in the region and has been serving our area for over three decades.
We are proud of the tremendous patient engagement our agency has enjoyed since its inception, and the many accolades and significant recognition that Jennie Stuart Health’s HHA has received through the years.
JSH values its agency’s purpose and the unique health care impact that our service line offers our patients. Our goal is to re-introduce Home Health to Western Kentucky in 2023. We will spend the next several months analyzing contemporary Home Health service line structures and practices, and evaluating the operational needs and requirements of a reinvigorated Home Health Agency that can thrive within the modern demands of our patient population and the healthcare industry.
We will provide updates on our progress as they become available. Thank you for your support of our people and the mission of our Home Health Agency through the years.
