The Department of Laboratory Medicine at Jennie Stuart is full-service and state-of-the-art. We are open 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

A staff of approximately 50 professionals including pathologists, medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, transcriptionists, and office administrators provide the highest quality services in the following disciplines:

• Surgical Pathology and Cytology
• Clinical Chemistry
• Microbiology
• Hematology
• Coagulation
• Immunology
• Urinalysis
• Transfusion service and blood bank
• Point of Care Testing
• Specimen collection

Accredited by the College of American Pathologist (CAP) since 1980, Laboratory at main campus and the Express Lab specimen collection center located at Jennie Stuart Health’s Eagle Way campus in Hopkinsville serves patients, physicians and other clients from the Pennyrile region and beyond. 

Re-accreditation

Every two years the Department of Laboratory Medicine undergoes re-accreditation by CAP. This consists of a team of on-site inspectors that conduct and thorough review process. The inspection covers all lab record, quality control, procedures, lab staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety, and overall management.
