Diagnostic Imaging
The Diagnostic Imaging Department of Jennie Stuart Health, commonly referred to as x-ray or radiology, is one of the primary ancillary service areas in the hospital. The principle function of this department is to assist in the diagnosis and therapeutic treatment of a disease through the use of radiology, fluoroscopy, radioisotopes, ultrasonography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, cardiology and special procedures. We combine the latest technologies with our team of caring, specialty trained healthcare professionals to provide patients with consistent, high-quality diagnostic testing.
Diagnostic Radiology
We offer all general radiology procedures, including fluoroscopy (myelogram and urology exams) and panorex procedures. Our diagnostic radiology department features state of the art "digital" technology with superior image quality that enhances productivity, patient comfort, and safety.
Ultrasound
Our department offers multiple ultrasound suites accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). We provide a full spectrum of diagnostic ultrasound procedures which include: abdominal, obstetrical and gynecological, breast, vascular and arterial procedures. We also provide a viewing monitor for fetal well-being exams for the expecting parents.
Cardiology
Echocardiology Transthoracic and Transesophageal are presented with high quality cardiac sonography equipment. Additional services include diagnostic heart catheterization, electrocardiograms (ECG), 24-48 hour holter monitoring, cardiac stress testing, cardioversion and cardiac tilt table procedures.
Nuclear Medicine and PETCT
Our nuclear medicine units offer a complete spectrum of nuclear medicine studies, including those for the bones, liver, spleen, cardiac and the gastrointestinal tract. The positron emission tomography/computed tomography unit conducts studies for staging and re-staging patients in preparation for cancer treatment.
CT Scan
Jennie Stuart Health offers the latest CT technology to provide services for the use of helical full body imaging. This permits high quality imaging with shorter scan times for our patients, and having two CT scanners, our patients have little to no wait time. These scanners produce high quality imaging with fast reconstruction time and low radiation dose to our patients.
Special Procedures
Jennie Stuart Health offers Interventional Radiography, Therapeutic Joint Injections and Aspirations, and Mammography and/or Ultrasound guided imaging for surgical breast localizations and biopsies.
